Siweon Lee Head Chair
Esteemed secretariats, fellow chairs, and honorable delegates, My name is Siweon Lee, a junior attending Logos International School, and it is my honor to be serving as the head chair of the Environmental Assembly. My Model United Nations journey started in 8th grade and has progressed since; this will be my 14th conference and my 6th time chairing! I hope that my experience with both chairing and debating will provide you with helpful guidance in engaging in fruitful discussions! The United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA) focuses on nature and its role in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). It is often far too easy to prioritize industrial development over the environment. However, as the world continues to experience the effects of such decisions, one of them being global warming, it is now time more than ever to truly think about our priorities and find implementable solutions to these issues in a way that allows us to come closer to the achievement of the UNSDGs. This is what the EA strives to do. In this iteration of LFRDMUN, the delegates of the EA must aim to solve issues on sustainability of both nature and humanity through resolution-writing and constructive debate. Remember to represent your nation’s stances and to be well prepared for the conference through proper and thorough research! Above all, however, remember to have fun! If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to send me an email ([email protected])! I look forward to seeing you all soon! Siweon Lee |

Natasha Jancloes Deputy Chair 2
Hello everyone! My name is Natasha Jancloes, I’m an 11th grade student from Lycée Francais René Descartes and I’ve been part of Model United Nations for two years now. This will be my first experience as a chair and I am thrilled to be the second deputy chair of the Environmental Assembly. Having attended the previous MUN conference as a delegate, I had an outside view of what being a chair was like. So being able to have this hands-on experience is very exciting for me. I hope we all have a great conference with fruitful debates and I can't wait to meet you all : )) |
