WE THINK, THEREFORE WE DEBATE. |
“The Lycée Français René Descartes of Phnom Penh was inaugurated in March 1951, in the presence of Albert Sarrault, President of the Assembly of the French Union. It was the beginning of a beautiful adventure. A school … a high school … with buildings, classrooms, playgrounds, enjoyed by generations of students and teachers, who imprinted their presence, who breathed an identity. Current and future students, will become forever members of the LFRD community.” Norodom Monineath Sihanouk |

Directors' messageWe are delighted to host for the very first time a MUN conference at the Lycée Français René Descartes. Our students have been participating in many conferences in the last few years. Their passion and commitment has led us to consider organising our own event. The excitement they showed convinced us to go ahead and do it. For us it is very rewarding to see them working in such an enthusiastic way.
Seeing the passion and commitment our students showed when participating in various conferences through the last few years, we thought of challenging them with the organization of an on-site event. Indeed, the devotion and effectiveness they have been carrying their new task with, has been to us, directors, a great reward. It has been quite a thrill to come up with everything ready in such a short time, amid the pandemic. We wish you all a fruitful LFRDMUN 2022. |
Secretary general's message
Greetings Directors, honorable chairs, fellow delegates.
I would first like to thank you all for taking part in our first ever LFRDMUN. In fact organizing for the first time an event of this scale at LFRD allowed us to truly experience the meaning of teamwork.
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, we are truly honored to have the opportunity to hold such an important event. We believe that the future of our society lies in the younger generation being able to discuss such important topics and learn more about our rapidly growing world. From the question of marine litter to the situation in Ukraine we hope to provide you with an invaluable experience.
This event is our steadfast ally as we strive to build a sustainable, inclusive and resilient world for all.
Our organizing committee and I are most pleased to welcome you to our 1st LFRDMUN.
